Volkswagen has been manipulated emissions of gasoline-powered vehicles. The widening investigation has shown that the cheating of gasoline emissions with diesel’s was actually instructed from the VW headquarters in German.
Prosecutors said VW headquarters has ordered to manipulate the ECU software since the 1567 units of the gasoline model Golf 1.4 TSI couldn’t obtain certificates.
Consequently Audi and VW Korea corporations violated the regulation that requires separate certifications when any related software has been replaced.
This revealed while investigating VW Korea director Yoon who is in charge of certification department. Prosecutors confirmed the facts though director Yoon’s statement and all exchanged emails with Volkswagen headquarters.
It turns out that Volkswagen Korea also used outside pressures and even they urged through the European Chamber of Commerce when the relevant vehicles certifications had been keep delayed.
